Went out to Chemist Warehouse to get allergy medicine and there was 30% off all make-up. I am not one that buys Rimmel, but thought I would test out the products. One of the items I bought was Vinyl Max in … Continue reading
So, went shopping for my cats but found that the make-up stand always offer something valuable that catches my eye. This time I found a lot of promotion for Revlon’s Colorburst range with Emma Stone front lining the campaign.
I always look into the lipsticks and lipglosses because I love wearing these everyday! I didn’t want to go for any bright colours, so I found this Peony lipgloss that was soft pink with a nude tint and gold sparkles through it. The picture up top shows the slight glitter through it but not to worry as I took a pic of my lips for a closer view of what this looks like.
It is very light in shade when glided on your lips. I find that the gold glitter really shines through with this lipgloss. Because the actual shade blends in with your natural lip colour, the gold sparkles make your lips extra shiny. This lip gloss is also non-sticky and I do not get that gluggy feeling. I also feel that it is moisturizing at the same time.
This costs about AU$23 and can be bought from any pharmacy or beauty store. I can’t say I found it anywhere cheaper online because it can be found at your regular retailers. Found lots of reviews for it. I would probably going to your chemist/pharmacy outlets to see if they have this for cheap.
lipgloss is great for every day wear or for special occasions. Right now, I am wearing it with just simple make-up of black eye liner. Easy done! I even took pictures! It’s simple and sweet!
Until next time…
I received the Rose Exclusif from my freebie grab on this post.
The premise behind the lipgloss is that it reacts with your lips pH level and adapts its colour. From the promotional pic above, it shows the shades that be achieved from this lipgloss.
So, I decided to take pictures on 2 separate occasions to see if I could achieve different results and this is what happened.
As you can see, this lipgloss was a darker shade of pink when I wore it. It was a very bold dark pink. When I initially wore it, I remember that it was lightly glossed with a hint of pink and was shocked when I got home to find how dark it was because it did not suit what I was wearing in the slightest – I was wearing a mustard colour dress. I can’t remember what I ate or drank that day as I’m sure if would attribute to the colour.
So today, I decided to take a picture first thing when I got up and I haven’t eaten yet. As you can see, the colour is quite light, almost clear. I prefer this shade as it can be worn with any sort of outfit. The colour hints subtlety and also gives a natural look.
So, I can honestly say that this lipgloss will give you mixed results. I have read online by other users, that if you mix this with a lipstick or another lipgloss, then you can achieve a colour you want. If you want to wing it and be surprised by the results, I say just wear it and see where it takes you throughout the day
The lipgloss is meant to give you a unique colour to match your skin tone. I think it does that but also at the same time changes colour when food and drink are factored in. I wouldn’t be surprised if it changed colour based on your mood too! It definitely is made to moisturize your lips so that is definitely a bonus!
For Australian customers, it can be found at Priceline, Target or pharmacies for $22. I managed to find a website that sold it for cheaper – Pharmacy Direct for $15.40.
For US customers, I searched high and low for this! I see that Bourjois is no longer selling in retail stores in the US. Even Amazon did not sell this lipgloss. Asos was a sure thing for US $12.16 until it read out of stock! But, I managed to find Pharmamundi selling it for US$12.95 with free shipping with orders over $25 using coupon NEW2012. I couldn’t find any other website that sold this lipgloss. Many sites offer Bourjois in general but not the Rose Exclusif.
Hope you enjoyed this post!
Had an amazing day today with my bestie and we went to a local market – Conventry Square. Lots of stalls selling make-up and accessories and we found a place selling cheap cosmetics.
I found Loreal’s Glam Shine – Reflexion in Sheer Watermelon for $4!!
The brush on this lipgloss is amazing! It’s so soft and glides on like a cushion to your lips It is probably the weirdest feeling because I am used to sturdy, hard lipgloss brushes but this was smooth and spongey – probably why it’s called reflexion because of the way the lip brush flexes to the shape of your lips. It leaves a glittery, light pinky colour on your lips with a non-sticky texture and wet shine look. Perfect for everyday wear or when you’re out and about. It also leaves a fruity scent which is refreshing but I couldn’t say it was watermelon (probably my sense of taste and smell failing me).
I only bought the one lipgloss because I wasn’t fond of the other colours on sale. This lipgloss usually retails for about $10 from regular cosmetic shops and pharmacies.
It was a great find and I wanted to share it with everyone
Update: This what the gloss looks like close up
Sorry for the bad image with my bad skin. As you can see its very subtle in colour with a pinky orange tint. It has a soft glitter finish and good for wearing everyday to plump your lips.
In this pic, which I took at work, you can see it’s a bit more reddy pink. I guess it depends on the lighting and how many layers you wear but it’s not that bright in colour. It’s a very soft and natural colour. I like the gloss because you can match it with any sort of make-up and outfit because it’s not that bright. It appears like a pinky coral colour in the gloss pot and is not over the top in appearance. Hope my pics give you an idea of what the gloss will look like against your lips and skin tone
