Bourjois Eyeshadow & Mascara pack

As everyone knows I live in Priceline but I always go when the time is right to make my purchases.

I always check out the specials and found a Bourjois mascara and eyeshadow pack for $20.

The pic is not the greatest but this was the pack it came in. Thought this was a bargain as Bourjois eyeshadow normally costs $20 and this particular mascara is approx. $16.

I couldn’t figure out the shade of this eyeshadow other than it saying 08 ombre à paupières eyeshadow. It is a soft creamy gold shade and I wear it as a base or just on its own. The mascara says 10x volume and I guess you can achieve this buy adding plenty of applications. I only do a few applications and am always a sceptic when it comes to mascara and the effects they are supposed to have. Here is a pic of the two together (excuse my unplucked eyebrows):

It is a very subtle colour and for me, perfect as a base. It’s a gold, creamy shimmer and you can wet the applicator to have a bolder colour.

Just wanting to share with you the products in case you are wanting to make the purchase on them :) I like the little note mentioning Bourjois’ baked technology that has been used for 150 years.

Exclusif Rose

I received the Rose Exclusif from my freebie grab on this post.

The premise behind the lipgloss is that it reacts with your lips pH level and adapts its colour. From the promotional pic above, it shows the shades that be achieved from this lipgloss.

So, I decided to take pictures on 2 separate occasions to see if I could achieve different results and this is what happened.

As you can see, this lipgloss was a darker shade of pink when I wore it. It was a very bold dark pink. When I initially wore it, I remember that it was lightly glossed with a hint of pink and was shocked when I got home to find how dark it was because it did not suit what I was wearing in the slightest – I was wearing a mustard colour dress. I can’t remember what I ate or drank that day as I’m sure if would attribute to the colour.

18th May:

So today, I decided to take a picture first thing when I got up and I haven’t eaten yet. As you can see, the colour is quite light, almost clear. I prefer this shade as it can be worn with any sort of outfit. The colour hints subtlety and also gives a natural look.

So, I can honestly say that this lipgloss will give you mixed results. I have read online by other users, that if you mix this with a lipstick or another lipgloss, then you can achieve a colour you want. If you want to wing it and be surprised by the results, I say just wear it and see where it takes you throughout the day :)

The lipgloss is meant to give you a unique colour to match your skin tone. I think it does that but also at the same time changes colour when food and drink are factored in. I wouldn’t be surprised if it changed colour based on your mood too! It definitely is made to moisturize your lips so that is definitely a bonus!

For Australian customers, it can be found at Priceline, Target or pharmacies for $22. I managed to find a website that sold it for cheaper – Pharmacy Direct for $15.40.

For UK customers, I found Boots and SuperDrug selling it for £7.69.

For Canadian customers, the Bourjois website says that you can make your purchase at Shoppers Drug Mart for $20.

For US customers, I searched high and low for this! I see that Bourjois is no longer selling in retail stores in the US. Even Amazon did not sell this lipgloss. Asos was a sure thing for US $12.16 until it read out of stock! But, I managed to find Pharmamundi selling it for US$12.95 with free shipping with orders over $25 using coupon NEW2012. I couldn’t find any other website that sold this lipgloss. Many sites offer Bourjois in general but not the Rose Exclusif.

Freebies from Priceline

So, out shopping today for birthday presents but if you don’t know me very well, then you’ll find I do present shopping for myself at the same time :)

So I head into Priceline – for any international readers, it’s a Girly store that sells make up, perfume, toiletries, gifts, toothpaste, vitamins etc – and instantly I want to buy all the perfumes because they are all on sale! I tell myself NO! you are out buying presents… So I stop myself. This is extremely hard because I love perfume. I move on because I have to actually buy things that I need.

Head to the make-up counters and see Bourjois is offering a free gift if you spend $19. From what I could tell, the lowest priced item is $20 – to me this is instant winning!! I buy foundation because it’s something I wear everyday for work.

I purchase the flower perfection youth extension foundation as it seems to be the feature item on the wall. It comes with a washable sponge – awesome! It cost me $34. I was excited about the free gift because it came in this box:

When I opened it up it was wrapped in tissue paper. You know it’s good when it’s in tissue paper! So I received a rose exclusif lipgloss and volume glamour ultra curl mascara – worth approx $42. Coincidentally I receive a sample of the foundation i just bought. I’ve gotta say that the lipgloss is amazing! It’s a transparent gloss that self adjusts its pink colour when applied :) It also has a sweet scent kind of like candy rather than rose (but this could be my nose playing tricks one me)

Moving on from this counter, I randomly stumble upon a Hello Kitty counter! Say what now? A Hello Kitty counter!!

So, they were offering a free body spray with any purchase – score!! I look thoroughly at each product. I felt that I already have too many eyeliners, eyeshadows and nail polish and don’t need powder or foundation, so I go for the lipgloss and lipsticks because I feel you can never have too many of those :D I buy a shimmery bright pink lipgloss and this amazingly outstanding pinky purple lipstick.

I believe the bright pinks are making a comeback. I used to wear pink lipstick all the time when I was about 8 years old and I thought I was the coolest but now since I know how to experiment with colours and not look like a nincompoop, it’s something I am excited at testing out. By making this purchase I received a melon body mist which smells amazingly fruity and fabulous. I think the products I bought are great to wear out for a Girly night and keeping it flirty and fun or if you just want to brighten up an outfit through your make-up. I’m all about the pinks in general.

If you don’t know me, then you’ll soon find out that I love Hello Kitty! It’s also because I’m Asian :)

If you’re out and about, be sure to look at the specials. Don’t be afraid to ask which items are on sale and see if you receive free gifts. I feel that if you love a brand or product and they offer free gifts, then you win because you gain products you wouldn’t have thought to try before and sort of save money at the same time as you have more products for one original price – well that’s how i see it anyway ;)

So girls head out to Priceline if you want to score some freebies with your purchases. Priceline never disappoints!!
